The MP3 Music Awards (MMA) is an annual awards ceremony established in 2007 to celebrate and award the most popular artists and bands as well as the best mp3 players and mp3 retailers in today's world of music.

MMA act as a major industry catalyst, creating the conditions to inspire diverse artists / bands and audiences whilst shaping memorable and unforgettable experiences. MP3 Music Awards works with industry individuals, sponsors and media partners across the UK and overseas.

Now the awards heads into its 6th year, MMA is now firmly established as one of the most important events on the industry calendar and has a past guest list that includes an array of industry celebrities, and top media executives.

 After a conversation with MTV on Thursday 17th November 2011, we have decided to focus on new and unsigned artists and bands like we did before, meaning (Original Format). MTV Quotes: Sorry, unsigned acts don’t work for us and very few production entities can deliver talent big enough on a regular basis to guarantee ratings and we don't think unsigned acts could find an audience for us.

MMA Quotes: We’ve always believed that most unsigned artists and bands trying to gain exposure in the music business works with mp3 files, but there's not a lot of recognition for the work produced in that format. 1st April 2010 we created a brand new TV show entitled Play That Track and launched the website on 29th April. www.playthattrack.co.uk

Basic Description: Ground-Breaking New Series!
A panel of celebrity Radio DJs from the best radio stations in the UK, i.e. Capital FM, Absolute/Virgin, Kiss FM and BBC Radio get told by viewers which track they most love or hate, by voting “Play That Track” or “Sorry Its Wack” and the contestant who receives the lowest amount of votes will be eliminated from the competition. Play That Track aims to discover the best talent in the country through a series of nationwide auditions judged by celebrity Radio DJ’s in which viewer voting determines the winner.

The audition for Play That Track will take place at various locations in the UK and be held within a dedicated studio environment, allowing people of any age to enter by simply turning up to one of our open auditions... or via an online submissions process, which will allows talented people to record their signing demo from back in their home town.

BBC Television 

After a meeting between the Head of BBC Music "Mark Cooper" and MP3 Music Awards CEO "Roger M Clavier". Major changes were made to MMA 2009, which involved awarding major selling recording artists whilst continuing to support new and unsigned acts from around the world.
